Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz tequila silver or reposado
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice about 1 lime
  • 1 oz cherry juice unsweetened or sweetened
  • ½ oz orange liqueur Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • ½ oz simple syrup adjust to taste
  • Salt sugar, or Tajín (for rimming the glass, optional)
  • Fresh cherries and lime slices for garnish
  • Ice as needed

Instructions
 

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita or rocks glass.
  • Dip the rim into salt, sugar, or Tajín, depending on your preference. Set the glass aside.
  • In a cocktail shaker, add tequila, lime juice, cherry juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and seal it tightly. Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
  • Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice.
  • Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass. For a smoother finish, double-strain to remove pulp or ice shards.
  • Garnish with fresh cherries and a lime slice on the rim or floating in the drink.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Tip: To make a frozen version, blend the ingredients with a cup of ice until smooth. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup as needed.
