- 1 gallon apple cider
- 4-5 cinnamon sticks
- 1-2 whole star anise
- 5-6 whole cloves
- 1 orange sliced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar or honey optional
- Apple slices optional for garnishing

Combine cider, spices, and orange slices in a pot or slow cooker.
Heat until simmering; reduce to low and simmer 30-60 minutes (or 2-3 hours in a slow cooker).
Strain and serve hot, garnished as desired.
