Spread caramel sauce on a plate and crushed caramel bits on another.
Dip the rim of a martini glass in the caramel sauce, then coat it with the crushed caramel.
Place the prepared glass in the freezer to chill.
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz vodka, 1 oz caramel liqueur, 1 oz heavy cream, 1/2 oz simple syrup (if using), and a pinch of sea salt.
Fill the shaker with ice, leaving about a quarter of the space at the top.
Secure the lid and shake the mixture for 20-30 seconds until thoroughly chilled and frothy. When the shaker feels cold to the touch, you’re ready.
Remove the chilled glass from the freezer. Optionally, drizzle caramel sauce inside the glass for decoration.
Strain the cocktail into the glass, pouring smoothly for a clean presentation.
Sprinkle a light pinch of sea salt over the top of the drink. Add an optional garnish like a caramel candy, pretzel stick, or chocolate shaving.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
