- 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
- 2 oz silver tequila
- 1 oz orange liqueur e.g., Cointreau
- 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz agave syrup
- 1 small jalapeño thinly sliced, seeds removed if less heat is desired
- Ice enough to fill shaker and glass

- Fresh strawberry slices or lime wedges optional, for garnish
Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass.
Dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt or Tajín. Set aside.
In a cocktail shaker, add the sliced strawberries and 2–3 slices of jalapeño.
Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to crush them until they release their juices.
Pour in the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave syrup.
Add a handful of ice to the shaker.
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15–20 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels icy.
Fill your rimmed glass with ice.
Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass. For a smoother drink, strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
