- 4 fresh strawberries hulled
- 2 oz vanilla vodka
- 1 oz strawberry liqueur
- 1 oz heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1 cup ice
- Granulated sugar optional, for rimming the glass
- 1 fresh strawberry slice or mint sprig optional garnish
Wash and hull the strawberries, removing the green tops. For the best flavor, use ripe, fragrant strawberries.
Chill the Glass (Optional): Place your martini glass in the freezer for 5-10 minutes to give it a frosty finish.
In a cocktail shaker, add the strawberries and use a muddler (or the back of a spoon) to mash them until they release their juices.
Fill the shaker with 1 cup of ice. Pour in 2 oz of vanilla vodka, 1 oz of strawberry liqueur, and 1 oz of heavy cream.
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake well for 15-20 seconds, until the mixture is well combined and frothy.
If desired, rim the martini glass with sugar. To do this, run a lemon wedge or a bit of water around the rim, then dip it into granulated sugar.
Use a fine mesh strainer to pour the cocktail into the chilled martini glass, leaving behind the strawberry pulp.
Garnish with a sliced strawberry on the rim, a sprig of mint, or even a dollop of whipped cream for an indulgent touch.
