Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ¼ cups milk plus a splash more if needed
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup Valentine’s-themed sprinkles pink, red, white, or heart-shaped
  • Whipped cream syrup, fresh strawberries, or melted chocolate (optional toppings)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture.
  • Stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing; a few lumps are fine. Add a splash of milk if the batter is too thick.
  • Fold in the Valentine’s sprinkles gently to avoid color bleeding.
  • Use a ladle or measuring cup to pour ¼ cup of batter per pancake onto the hot skillet.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set.
  • Flip carefully and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  • Place cooked pancakes on a baking sheet in a 200°F (93°C) oven to keep them warm while you cook the rest.
  • Stack pancakes on a plate and top with your favorite toppings like whipped cream, syrup, strawberries, or melted chocolate.
  • Sprinkle a few extra Valentine’s sprinkles for decoration.
