Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh watermelon cubes seedless preferred
  • ounces tequila silver/blanco
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice about one lime
  • ½ ounce orange liqueur Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1-2 slices fresh jalapeño adjust for spice level
  • ½ ounce simple syrup or honey
  • Ice enough for shaking and serving
  • Salt or Tajín for rimming the glass
  • Watermelon wedge lime wheel, or jalapeño slice (optional garnishes)

Instructions
 

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip the edge into salt or Tajín for a flavorful finish. Set aside.
  • Blend 2 cups of watermelon cubes until smooth. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp and seeds.
  • Chill the juice in the fridge while prepping the rest.
  • In a cocktail shaker, add 1-2 slices of jalapeño. Gently muddle to release the oils for a subtle heat. Adjust the amount based on your spice tolerance.
  • To the shaker, add: 1½ ounces of tequila, 1 ounce of fresh lime juice, ½ ounce of orange liqueur, ½ ounce of simple syrup or honey, 1 cup of fresh watermelon juice.
  • Add ice to the shaker, seal it tightly, and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well combined and chilled.
  • Fill your prepared glass with ice.
  • Strain the margarita mixture into the glass using a cocktail strainer. Use a fine mesh strainer for a smoother finish if desired.
  • Garnish with a slice of watermelon, a lime wheel, or a jalapeño slice.
  • Sip, savor, and enjoy the perfect blend of sweet and spicy!
