In this post, you'll find...
1. The Breakfast Club
Address: 4400 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Best for: Sweet-tooth brunch options
Tucked away in the heart of old town Scottsdale, you’ll find the Breakfast Club, your new personal favorite. Here’s a place that’ll take you on a stroll down memory lane. Back when I was a college lad in Tempe, the Breakfast Club was my beacon on groggy mornings. The bright, casual atmosphere is like a breath of fresh air that’ll leave you reaching for your phone for that perfect Insta shot.
Imagine yourself munching on the Steak Benedict, a savory dish where 6oz prime sirloin meets poached eggs, sautéed spinach, and béarnaise, all sitting pretty on an English muffin. Pair it with their potatoes O’Brien and fresh fruit, and you’re all set for a hearty breakfast. But wait, did you just say you’re a fan of huevos rancheros? Well, buckle up, because their version with crispy corn tortillas, pork green chile, and a symphony of Mexican toppings will make your tastebuds do a salsa dance!
And for all you sweet-toothed brunch enthusiasts, don’t fret! They’ve got a churro waffle so delightful you’d want to write a sonnet about it, and Matcha Green Tea Pancakes that are a modern take on the classic brunch dish.
Now, let me tell you about the best part: the service. Swift as a coursing river, with the force of a great typhoon. Jokes aside, the friendly staff truly light up the place, making every visit a pleasant experience.
In my recent visit, I chose to perch at the bar for a more laid-back experience. The pancakes I ordered were fluffier than a cloud and tastier than grandma’s secret recipe. Trust me, you won’t regret taking my advice. After you’re done, don’t forget to explore the many shops within walking distance for an activity-filled afternoon. Breakfast Club isn’t just a great place for brunch; it’s the start of a great day in Scottsdale.
2. Hash Kitchen
Address: 8777 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85253
Best for: Boozy brunch
Nestled in North Scottsdale, the Hash Kitchen has a reputation that echoes throughout the United States – and boy, it’s well deserved. Back in my college years, I remember venturing here from Tempe one Sunday morning for brunch, completely unaware that I was about to stumble upon one of the best brunch spots ever. Hash Kitchen is also one of the best places for a boozy brunch in Scottsdale, but more on that later.
Talk about an atmosphere that screams “brunch party!” The place buzzes with energy, mixing a modern vibe with creative daytime dishes that’ll have your taste buds doing a double-take. And hey, if you’re like me and enjoy being the architect of your brunch experience, their build-your-own bloody mary bar is a sight to behold. It’s practically a Sunday brunch institution.
Among their popular dishes, you must try their canoli donuts – a sweet symphony of fried sweet dough, cannoli cream, and powdered sugar. And let’s not forget their breakfast burritos – a savory delight packed with eggs, chorizo, bacon, and a kitchen sink of other goodies. Oh, and did I mention Maso’s Breakfast Potato Tacos? Holy guacamole, it’s a fiesta in your mouth with a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
In one of my most recent visits, I chose to bask in the Arizona sun on their patio, where the DJ was serving up some great beats (albeit a tad loud). But you know what’s louder? The clinking of the Mimosa flight glasses I shared with my friends. And yes, we fell for the irresistible charm of the glitter cotton candy bomb – a sparkly sweet treat that’s sure to jazz up your Instagram.
This place even has a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, where you can enjoy a house-made Bloody Mary created just the way you like it. How cool is that?
The food here isn’t just delicious; it’s an experience. The brunch pizza, the cornucopia of hash options, the bacon that could’ve been forged in the heart of the sun – all of it, simply phenomenal. All these mouth-watering options make Hash Kitchen more than just a great spot; it’s a must-visit brunch destination that’ll keep you coming back for more!
3. First Watch
Address: 16455 N Scottsdale Rd #107, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
Best for: Fresh, farm to table dining
Do you remember your favorite hangout spot during college? Well, for me, it was First Watch, located in multiple spots around Scottsdale. During my five glorious years in Arizona, my best friend and I practically became fixtures in almost all five of their locations. It wasn’t just about the food; it was the warm, family-owned restaurant vibe that kept us coming back. Even though it’s a chain, each cafe has its own special charm and inviting ambiance.
First Watch is your one-stop shop for health-conscious yet mouthwatering breakfast, brunch, and lunch options. Their menu is a testament to their commitment to fresh, nutritious food without compromising on taste. Case in point: their Trifecta. Take a minute to picture this – two fresh cage-free eggs cooked any style, served with your choice of a light, airy Belgian waffle or a multigrain pancake, along with a side of crispy bacon or savory chicken sausage patty.
But, if you’re an omelette lover like me, their Chile chorizo omelette is a game changer. It’s a delicious fusion of chorizo, avocado, green chilies, roasted onions, and melted cheese, topped with a dollop of all-natural sour cream. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.
For a lighter option, their Sunrise granola bowl is a perfect balance of non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt, fresh seasonal fruit, nuts, and their housemade granola. And the Farmhouse skillet hash? Well, it’s a hearty breakfast of eggs, seasoned potatoes, bacon, avocado, cheese, and fresh veggies served with artisan toast. A hearty breakfast? Check!
What sets First Watch apart from other chain restaurants is its dedication to quality and service. Despite the busyness of modern life, this place always made us feel taken care of. Their seasonal specials are a treat in their own right. The green chile pork hash and gingerbread spice donut holes were absolutely divine! If you’re in the mood for top-notch service and high-quality brunch items, First Watch should be your next stop. It’s more than a great place for brunch; it’s a home away from home.
4. Snooze A.M. Eatery
Address: 15054 N Scottsdale Rd 110 D1B, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
Best for: Casual, family dining
Ah, Snooze A.M. Eatery, the jewel of Scottsdale brunch places. Let’s rewind to my college days when this vibrant, retro spot first hit my radar. I remember walking in for the first time, instantly charmed by its eclectic and warm decor. From then on, it was love at first bite.
This isn’t your typical brunch joint – it’s a creative playground for your taste buds. Picture this: a slice of rustic bread toasted with garlic oil, topped with smashed avocado and a sweet-savory red onion honey jam. Add in roasted tomato and two sunny-side-up eggs, with a side of citronette and parmesan dressed greens. This, my friends, is the Bravocado toast – a creative twist on the classic avocado toast. But wait, there’s more!
If you’re feeling adventurous, try the Sweet potato bacon smash up. Imagine griddled, smashed sweet potatoes, a poached egg, avocado, pickled onions, and a drizzle of black pepper maple syrup, all topped with crispy bacon. It’s the sweet and savory mash-up you never knew you needed.
And then there’s the pièce de résistance: the customized pancake flight. It’s a ticket to a fluffy paradise where you get to choose your pancake destiny – plain, pineapple, blueberry, chocolate chip, or French toast. The choice is yours.
Now, let’s talk ambiance. It’s a throwback to the simpler times, vibrant, yet comfortable. On my recent visit, the staff were stars, every single one of them. And let’s not forget the drinks – creative, inspired, and perfect companions to your meal. The best part? They have a loyalty club – yes, you heard that right.
For those of you with dietary restrictions, fear not. Snooze A.M. is sensitive to your needs and can make most of their dishes gluten-free, including pancakes and French toast. A huge perk is the ample parking outside and an online waitlist that ensures you’re seated promptly.
So, whether you’re a local or just passing through Scottsdale, Snooze A.M. is a must-visit. It’s not just a brunch place; it’s an experience. And once you’ve snoozed here, you’ll never want to lose.
5. Butters Pancakes & Cafe
Address: 8300 N Hayden Rd f104, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
Best for: Best pancakes in Scottsdale
Now, I don’t use the term ‘nirvana’ lightly, but for Butters Pancakes & Cafe, it’s absolutely fitting. This unassuming cafe is my personal favorite brunch spot that’s tucked away in the heart of Scottsdale. But be warned, once you’ve brunched here, there’s no going back.
Why, you ask? Well, for starters, imagine stepping into a space that perfectly balances a casual and friendly atmosphere with a feast of creative breakfast and lunch offerings. The star of the show here? You guessed it – the pancakes. But these aren’t just any pancakes. Think of a creative explosion of flavors that you can’t find anywhere else.
And then there are the breakfast crepes, another house specialty. I still remember my first bite of the Berry Bliss crepe – loaded with vanilla mascarpone, smothered in fresh wildberries and a sweet glaze, it’s a heavenly explosion of flavor. They also offer a range of delectable options such as Apple Cinnamon Pecan Caramel, Blueberry Danish, and for all you Nutella lovers out there – a Nutella crepe that’s to die for.
But wait, there’s more. The Irish eggs benedict, for example, is a delicious twist on the classic, featuring poached eggs on top of corned beef hash with onion, English muffin, and silky hollandaise sauce. If you’re in a sweet mood, the Brioche French toast with an array of toppings is not to be missed.
Butters doesn’t shy away from lunch favorites either. Their prime rib French dip sandwich, Thai chicken salad, and chicken avocado wrap are all stellar choices.
Now, let’s talk service. As expected from a popular brunch place, there was a bit of a wait. But I promise you, every minute spent in anticipation is worth it. On my last visit, the food was absolutely on point. The portions are generous, the ingredients fresh, and the flavors perfectly balanced. The Orange juice – oh, the Orange juice – freshly squeezed and absolutely refreshing.
When I’m back in town, you can bet your bottomless mimosas that I’ll be hitting Butters Pancakes & Cafe. So, if you’re in Scottsdale and in search of the perfect brunch, and some of the best pancakes in the city, look no further. Butters is not just a great place, it’s a brunch nirvana.
6. Arcadia Farms Cafe
Address: 7025 E 1st Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Best for: French-inspired dining
There’s something about Arcadia Farms Cafe that’s irresistibly charming. This cozy cafe tucked away in Old Town Scottsdale feels like a step into a rustic French countryside kitchen, complete with its stylishly vintage interior and a beautiful patio adorned with trees and plants. If you’ve ever dreamed of brunching in a Parisian café without the transatlantic flight, this is the perfect spot.
As a huge brunch enthusiast, I can’t help but adore the unique and appetizing variety of breakfast staples and organic New American dishes that Arcadia Farms has to offer. The menu is abundant with mouth-watering dishes that feel authentic and comforting.
Take the Gruyére and Parisan Ham Crepes for instance. One bite into this delicacy, and you are instantly transported to the streets of Paris. Another must-try is the Peach French Toast Casserole – a decadent dish served with praline pecan caramel sauce topped with whipped cream. Trust me when I say, it’s every bit as divine as it sounds.
The Blueberry Crepes are another highlight. Stuffed with an orange mascarpone filling and topped with a fruity berry compote, these crepes deliver a delightful burst of flavor that perfectly balances sweet and tangy. If savory is more your style, the Potato Frittata, laden with caramelized onions & peppers, thinly sliced Yukon Gold potatoes, creamy eggs, and fresh herbs, won’t disappoint. Topped off with Gruyère cheese and served with arugula and a Provençal tomato, it’s a hearty and satisfying option.
And, what would a French-inspired cafe be without an exquisite Champagne bar? Whether you’re partial to the sweet pineapple sunrise, the fragrant lavender fields, or a classic peach Bellini, they’ve got you covered. The Kir Royale and mimosa are also fantastic choices to add some sparkle to your brunch.
Now, I have to mention the basket of French pastries served at brunch. These flaky, buttery delights are meant to be nibbled on throughout your meal, but I’ll admit, they rarely last that long on our table. They’re just too good to resist!
Arcadia Farms Cafe is more than a restaurant – it’s a culinary experience. It’s a spot that effortlessly combines the heart of Old Town Scottsdale with the essence of a Parisian getaway. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, don’t miss the chance to make Arcadia Farms Cafe your next brunch destination.
7. Maple & Ash
Address: 7135 E Camelback Rd #130, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Best for: Upscale brunch & special occasions
Sometimes, a special occasion (or a random Tuesday, I don’t judge) calls for a bit of brunch-time splendor, and for those times, Maple & Ash is where you should be heading. Nestled in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, this sophisticated steakhouse knows how to do upscale brunch right. Think swanky interior, chandeliers, plush seating – a dreamy setup that’s the perfect backdrop for an Instagram-worthy brunch spread.
Maple & Ash’s brunch menu is a delightfully elevated take on brunch classics. For a flat price of $75 per person (excluding drinks), you can choose from a range of exquisite entrees. I’m talking Alaskan king crab benedict, avocado toast topped with all the good stuff, crispy-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside fried chicken and waffles, a decadent truffle omelette, juicy steak and eggs, or some downright heavenly French toast.
But wait, there’s more! This flat price also includes an assortment of shared side dishes for the table. We’re talking warm beignets that melt in your mouth, fire-roasted filet mignon, sweetly savory maple-glazed bacon, seasonal scones that taste like a bakery dream come true, and crispy breakfast potatoes that have been cooked to perfection.
The best part of it all? The drink options. The espresso martinis, bloody marys, and bottomless mimosas (I mean, who doesn’t love a good bottomless mimosa?) are all fabulous, but the showstopper is their Martini Tree. Yes, you read that right. A tree. Of martinis. If that isn’t peak brunch sophistication, I don’t know what is!
Now, I can’t forget to mention the impeccable service. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel like royalty. It’s the kind of service that makes an already fantastic meal feel that much more special.
Whether it’s a celebratory meal, a catch-up brunch with friends, or just because you deserve it (which you absolutely do), Maple & Ash is a brunch experience you won’t forget in a hurry. Despite the prices being on the higher side, it’s an absolute treat for the senses and well worth every penny. With every visit, I find myself daydreaming about the next time I’ll be back. If only they’d open one in Paris! Until then, I’ll be looking forward to my next Scottsdale visit for another Maple & Ash brunch extravaganza.

When it comes to food, Farm & Craft hits it out of the park. One of their standout dishes is the Acai Bowl, a nourishing blend of acai, fresh berries, banana, chia, hemp seeds, and coconut almond granola, with an option to add a spoonful of almond butter. The Farm Scramble is another crowd-pleaser, featuring a wholesome mix of chicken sausage, sweet potato, scrambled eggs, and kale.
For those with a sweet tooth, you can’t go past the Protein Pancakes. Made with vanilla protein batter, these pancakes are topped with a bounty of berries and crunchy coconut almond granola, then drizzled with maple syrup for a touch of sweetness.
During my visit, I enjoyed the Breakfast Burrito and a Dragon Fruit smoothie on the recommendation of the super friendly staff. Let’s just say that the recommendation was spot on! The burrito was packed with flavor, and the smoothie was refreshing, providing the perfect balance.
If that isn’t enough to tempt you, consider this: Farm & Craft is also dog friendly! So next time you’re in Scottsdale, bring along your furry friend and enjoy a meal at Farm & Craft. I know I’m looking forward to trying out other menu items during my next visit.
