If you take an epic vacation, in a beautiful location but don’t post about it… did it even happen?
As we know, Instagram is steadily taking over the social media market, especially in the travel space, with over ½ of millennials choosing their next vacation destination solely based on how #instaworthy it is.
Lucky for me, I live in the beautiful French Riviera which is filled with some of the most gorgeous beaches, architecture, and coastlines.
And in this article I’m going to be taking you all around my city to show you the 7 most Instagrammable places to take Instagram photos in Nice, France.
In this post, you'll find...
PLACE MASSENA:
One iconic spot for an Instagram photo in Nice is Place Massena.
It is a massive town square located in the center of the city, surrounded by red and orange buildings, and a super trippy checkered ground.
The end of the plaza hosts monumental fountain with a marble statue of Apollo on top.
This is the perfect photo spot to showcase the beautiful architecture of the city!
It is always super busy during the day, so be sure to get here bright and early if you want a photo with no people in the background!
VIEUX NICE (OLD NICE)
Le Vieux Nice (or just Le Vieux for locals) is the Old Town of Nice.
It is a maze of cobbled streets and alleys that you will love to get yourself lost in!
The main street of Old Nice hosts the Cours Saleya everyday, a colorful flower market where you can buy fresh flowers for great prices.
Filled with cafés, bars, restaurants, and cute shops, Le Vieux is a perfect place for a relaxed lunch, an evening stroll, a night out .. or just for an Instagram photo 🙂
PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS
If you’ve ever seen photos of Nice before, chances are they are from this Promenade.
This iconic main avenue is a 5 mile long gorgeous walkway right along the beach.
On one side of the Promenade you can see lots of fancy hotels and expensive housing,
While the other side is filled with an immense pebble strip made up into a mosaic of both public and private beaches.
On a typical sunny day, you can find many people here roller skating, walking their dogs, riding bikes, or sitting on the many blue chairs soaking up the sun.
There are also tons of restaurants lining the Promenade, which makes this the perfect spot for trying some of the delicious local foods of the French Riviera.
It is a place you cannot afford to miss when you come to Nice, and definitely one of the most Instagrammable places in the city!

LE NEGRESCO
This luxury 5-star hotel is the most famous and iconic sight in Nice.
Located right on the Promenade des Anglais, Le Negresco was listed by the French government as a National historic Building, and is a member of Leading Hotels of the World.
This 1920’s hotel is made up of a beautiful mixture of muted pastel colors and highlighted with stunning gold accents,
Making this the perfect backdrop for an epic Instagram photo.

RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL
Also recognized as a national monument of France, the St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral is an impressive orange and turquoise church located in the city center.
This cathedral acts as a reminder of the strong connection that Russia and the French Riviera have had since the mid-19th century.
The Russian nobility visited the south of France so much, that eventually a railway connection was established between Moscow and Nice in 1864.
When Tsar Alexander II visited the city that same year, he loved Nice so much that he decided to build an Orthodox cathedral there, where it has stayed ever since!
This is another stunning photo location that is a must-see on your trip to Nice.

CASTLE HILL
If you’re expecting to see an actual castle here, you will be disappointed.
But, La Colline du Chateau, also known as Castle Hill, is still an amazing spot to take photos!
This hill used to be a military citadel that was destroyed under Louis XIV,
However it is still worth climbing up to the top and taking in the breathtaking views that overlook the city!
LE PORT DE NICE
If I had to name one part of the city that really embodies the Mediterranean feel, it would definitely have to be the Port of Nice.
The port is a very trendy and vibrant neighborhood where you can find typical Mediterranean horse, colorful boats, antique shops, and thrift stores.
It is ideal for fleeing the busy city center to relax while watching the ferries sail across the Mediterranean sea.
The port is also a famous local nightlife hub and a great spot for a colorful instagram photo.
