Da Nang, a coastal city in Central Vietnam, is blessed with some truly stunning beaches.
As someone who has been living in Da Nang for the past month, I can tell you that this city has some of the best beaches I’ve ever experienced.
It’s like a Miami vibe, with white sandy beaches, modern beach bars, and a stunning view of tall hotels and apartment buildings lining the coast.
But at 4 times less the price.
Seriously. Prices here are criminally low compared to what I’d pay for the same experience back home.
What can be better than that?
In this article, I’ll provide an overview of the best beaches to visit in Da Nang, along with some details about their geographic highlights and the ideal time to enjoy these sandy paradises.
In this post, you'll find...
Why I love Da Nang beaches
Da Nang’s coastal beauty owes much to its diverse geography. You have My Khe, a long stretch of white sand ranked among the world’s most beautiful beaches by Forbes.
And there’s Non-Nuoc, nestled at the base of the picturesque Marble Mountains. Bac My An Beach, located near exclusive resorts, offers a luxurious atmosphere.
Further up the coast, you’ll find Nam O Beach, known for its unique seaweed and stunning views of the Son Tra Peninsula. For a family-friendly atmosphere, visit Tien Sa Beach with its calm waters and modern facilities.
If you’re in search of tranquility, go to Thanh Binh Beach for its peaceful vibe and local charm, or Xuan Thieu Beach, also known as Red Beach, for its stunning sunsets.
Climate and Best Time to Visit
You might be wondering, “What’s the best time to hit these amazing Da Nang beaches?” No worries, I’ve got you covered!
Da Nang has a tropical climate, to provide fantastic beach weather almost year-round. However, I’d recommend visiting between March and September, as these are the driest months.
The temperatures during these months are perfect for sunbathing or just soaking up the vibe.
💡 Tip: The months of January to March can also be pretty nice with slightly cooler temperatures, and you might just save a pretty penny on accommodations this time.
As an avid beachgoer who’s been living in Da Nang over the past month, I’ve loved exploring the various sandy retreats this place has to offer.
Each beach offers something unique that appeals to different types of travelers. Whether you’re a surfer, a sun worshiper, or a family on vacation, Da Nang has a beach that caters to your desires.
Top 3 Beaches in Da Nang
Let’s dive into the three most popular beach destinations, My Khe Beach, Non Nuoc Beach, and Bac My An Beach.
I promise, by the end of this section, you’ll feel like you’re bathing under the Vietnamese sun!
1. My Khe Beach
I must say, My Khe Beach totally stole my heart. It’s about a 10-minute walk from An Thuong area in Da Nang, so it’s definitely accessible.
If you’re into white sandy stretches and clear blue waters, this is your spot. Perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and surfing, it’s a versatile beach that appeals to a wide range of travelers!
The ambiance at My Khe is lively and fun, with lots of activity. I’ve been here several times, and each time, I find myself marveling at the gorgeous beachscapes.
They have beach chairs you can rent for about 50,000 VND for the day (about $2 USD) and fresh coconuts to drink for about 30,000 Dong, or about $1.50 USD.
I must warn you though, it can get quite busy on weekends, so be ready to share the beach with some enthusiastic locals.

2. Non Nuoc Beach
Taking a more peaceful turn, Non Nuoc Beach is another must-visit gem. Nestled near the Marble Mountains and only a short drive away from An Thuong, this beach is a haven for those seeking relaxation.
Non Nuoc boasts light, powdery sand and inviting blue waters that are perfect for swimming. The calm surf make it ideal for families and those who prefer less hectic beach experiences.
To top it off, this beach is lined with luxurious resorts, so you might want to splurge a bit and pamper yourself at one of them.
What I like the most about Non Nuoc is the serenity it offers. There’s something about being so close to the famous Marble Mountains that adds a touch of magic to the whole experience.
3. Bac My An Beach
Last but not least, Bac My An Beach is another top pick for beach lovers. This sandy spot is situated near My Khe and also offers picturesque views of the sea and surrounding landscape.
The beautiful, clean beach is ideal for sunbathing and swimming, complemented by a good range of watersports activities. I love sitting on the sand here with my coconut in hand and watching the surfers ride the waves.
In addition to all the beachside fun, Bac My An is home to top-notch resorts and hotels, so you’re never too far from excellent accommodations. The luxurious Furama Resort, for example, is a fantastic place to stay.
Honestly, what makes Bac My An stand out for me is the variety of watersports available. While I’m not a pro when it comes to adrenaline-pumping activities, it’s refreshing to try something new once in a while.
Things to Do in Da Nang
Da Nang’s beaches are quite the playground for anyone looking to mix up their beach day with some leisure and adventure activities.
Whether you’re a water sports enthusiast or a nature lover, there’s something for everyone here.
Water Sports and Recreation
From my personal experience, one of the best ways to make the most of the crystal-clear waters is to indulge in some popular water sports.
This includes snorkeling, jet-skiing, and windsurfing. Besides, if you’re more of a beach bum, a game of beach volleyball while witnessing the beautiful sunrise can be equally enjoyable.
During my stay in the An Thuong area, various beaches and hotels offered diverse water sports experiences. My Khe Beach, for instance, is close by, and it’s perfect for beginners and families alike.
The calm waters and abundance of rental shops make it an ideal spot for water sports enthusiasts.
Exploring the Natural Landscape
Other than water sports, I’ve enjoyed exploring the fantastic natural sights around Da Nang’s beaches.
Monkey Mountain and Marble Mountains are just a few must-visit places for nature lovers. These spots not only offer a chance to hike in the lush green jungle but also provide breathtaking views of the coastline.
For travellers who prefer a cultural experience, I’d recommend the Linh Ung Pagoda.
It’s a magnificent Buddhist temple situated on Monkey Mountain. It allowed me to immerse myself in the local culture while enjoying the breathtaking panorama of Da Nang.
Based on my personal experience, if you’re staying around the An Thuong area, these natural and cultural gems are within a 30-minute drive. Their accessibility makes it perfect for a day trip from your base in Da Nang.
Where to Stay in Da Nang
Beachfront Resorts
Let me tell you, there’s nothing like waking up to the sound of the waves and the smell of the ocean. If you’re into that too, Da Nang has some fantastic beachfront resorts for you to choose from.
My Khe Beach has some highly rated hotels, with options ranging from top-notch luxury resorts to more budget-friendly stays. I’ve personally stayed at a few of these resorts, and the combination of private beach access, amazing scenery, and top-quality service made my visits unforgettable.
- For Families: If you’re traveling with family, I highly recommend choosing a resort with a kids’ club and activities to keep your little ones entertained.
- For Couples: If you’re a couple looking for a romantic getaway, you’ll find some luxurious resorts with private beach areas where you can sip on cocktails and soak up the sun in style.
Hotels Near the City Center
Don’t worry if beachfront resorts aren’t your cup of tea. Da Nang also has accommodation options in the city center for a more urban experience.
After living in the An Thuong area for a month, I found that city center hotels provide easy access to local vibes, delicious food, and bustling nightlife.
Here’s a list of my favorites:
- Wink Hotel Da Nang Centre: 4-star hotel great for first-timers! It’s where the heart of the action is, with a mix of tourists and locals enjoying the beach life. It’s an easy 15-minute drive from the An Thuong area.
- Centre Hotel: Perfect for nature lovers or those seeking tranquility. It’s a modern, 3-star hotel that offers views over the river in the heart of Da Nang.
During my time in Da Nang, I’ve found that each area has its perks, depending on your preferences and travel style. The key is to find the right accommodation based on your interests, comfort, and budget in this vibrant Vietnamese city.
