Where is San Remo?
San Remo is a coastal city in Northern Italy, with around 57000 residents. It has the status of being an Italian province, with its history stretching back thousands of years with archeological finds dating to the stone age.
Located on the Mediterranean Sea, it’s known for its spas and saltwater beaches; however, things to do in San Remo go beyond the sea. In fact, things to do in San Remo include a wide range of things from gastronomy to museums and historical sites.
Cultural things to do in San Remo
For my culture buffs, some cool things to do in this quaint Italian city include museums and art galleries, such as the Floriseum (Museo del Fiore di Sanremo) and the Galleria d’Arte Moderna (Modern Art Gallery).
The Palazzo Borea D’Olmo is a former noble residence which from 1840 to 1857 hosted famous figures such as French writer Honore de Balzac.
The city of San Remo also hosts a number of festivals throughout the year- from the Festival of Flowers in April to the International Circus Festival in December.

This takes place on Wednesday mornings between 7am and 1pm at the old Antique market square. It has around 200 stands selling all sorts of items including old postcards, coins, watches and jewelry as well as local artworks and other knick-knacks.
The market is within walking distance (about 1km) from the main Train Station (the San Remo Centrale station).
